Continuation of Moving Toward Acceptance Through Picture Books

Differentiating Instruction
Is this particular classroom there is 4 below grade level students who struggle. They will be able to participate in the whole lesson from start to finish, but need to be given extra time or accommodations.
- While doing the spelling sentences, again have these 4 students sit at the back table with you and work as a group, while the rest of the class works in pairs.

Student Learning Objective
-SLO 5: Students will be asked to create sentences with the new vocabulary with their spelling partners on their Chromebooks. At the end of the lesson the students should have 11 complete forth grade sentences. Sentences will be handed in for assessment and grade.
-SLO 6: Students will be able to have self control at the end of the lesson while stretching to GoNoodle

I will assess the students sentences that they have created

Materials/resources needed for Lesson 1
- Corrected Mix and Match Vocabulary Worksheet
- Chromebooks for Spelling Sentences
- Smart Board for GoNoodle

Part 4 Weslandia Vocabulary Spelling Sentences
- After worksheet has been completed and corrected, have students (Number 6 and 18) pass out Chromebooks to class.
- Have students watch the ScreenCast about GoogleDrive for review about using GoogleDocs




- Students will need to use the vocabulary on the “pick and match” sheet to create 11 forth grade appropriate sentences with their spelling partner.
- Students will work in pairs and share ideas, but each student needs to create their own document and type up each sentence. NOT one submitted work per group.
- Have students use their “Sentence Requirements” sheet to guide them in writing forth grade appropriate sentences
At this time the 4 lower level students should go to the back table to sit with the teacher and work as a group, while the rest of the class works in pairs.
- Once students have finished they may add 1 Clip-Art that represents Weslandia or the topic of Social Issues (Plants, Friendship)
- Once work is completed have the students share their work with the teacher Via Google Drive to save paper.
- After sentences have been completed and submitted, have students (Number 3 and 11) put Chromebooks away in cart.

Closure - Unwinding After a Full Lesson **
- Have students put away any other materials in desk, then stand up and follow the GoNoodle
